GE MPR/UHF Portable 2-Way RADIO/T&F-Knobs, RPT-DIR, EMG/BATTS, CHGR, MIC/Vtg. Offered for sale is ONE - PORTABLE RADIO PACKAGE / VINTAGE "AS-IS" / GE - General Electric / Model: "MPR" ("MASTR Personal Radio") / FM Band: UHF 435-470 MHz Not one of the otherwise oddball UHF segment splits which are often what's listed for sale these days in this vintage radio model, if spotted remaining on the market. PLEASE CAREFULLY EXAMINE THE PHOTOS SHOWN, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY ARE OF THE ACTUAL, INDIVIDUAL, SPECIFIC PHYSICAL ITEM BEING OFFERED. THIS IS AN INDUSTRIAL; USED RADIO. ITS ESTHETIC/COSMETIC WEAR CONDITION MAY OR MAY NOT INCLUDE; SCUFFS, SCRAPES, DENTS, DINGS OR BE CHIPPED, HAVE DECALS AND/OR OTHER PERSONALIZATIONS SUCH AS ENGRAVINGS, MARKINGS...
IMPORTANT: VERY SPECIFIC RADIO CONDITION NOTE. As pictured, the Speaker/Microphone - Coiled, is being included in this package at no additional cost, because upon inspection inside of the radio it was discovered that the speakers wire became disconnected from the main circuit board, as shown in one of the posted photos. The External Speaker/Microphone proved to resolve the function temporarily or as a permanent alternative solution. In that event, as a precaution you may wish to adhere a decal to the face of the radio advising other potential users that operation of this radio requires the External Speaker/Microphone. For technical reference, in order to establish where the dangling wire likely disconnected from and may likely or similarly be re-attached onto this radios circuit boards proper location by having it resoldered on, please simply view : T he 12th photo posted in this listing shows the circuit board inside of an extremely similar if not samely configured radio where its speakers wire is attached.
The "T" (Tone), and "F" (Frequency) Selector Knobs each indicate 10 - positions. That is the MAXIMUM POTENTIAL OPTIONS CAPACITY for those features with this radios chasis size which is Package: C = Extended (Largest). That is not necessarily what this radio was or is configured for. 10-("F") FREQUENCIES - Would be further dependant upon the amount of Channel Element slots offered for this piece after the rest of the custom options have been configured, plugged in and present. This particular radios current configuration appears to possibly have: slots for supporting a maximum of 2 Receive, and 2 Transmit - Channel Elements. That said, present in the lower portion of the compartment are 8 dummy spacer pieces of readily removable white foam which are the size of Channel Elements. 10-Channel Guard ("T") TONES - Currently the knob has or is enabled for a maximum selection of 2 positions on the dial. Tones were advertised to be a "Field Programmable" feature. ("EMG") EMERGENCY - Toggle Switch. It Transmitted and Received to and from another radio on selected switch position F-1 (Frequency-1), along with the T-1 (Tone-1) option selected, and again successful when tried with T-2 (Tone-2). Unknown if this radio will arrive working, consistantly working or not. Nor do I know if it is truly physically complete or not.
