The heater uses a standard replaceable screw-base heating element, similar to those used in other'bowl' heaters. The coil on heating element was replaced recently which makes this heater back in good working condition as it shows in picture. The stamped-steel ornamental base and shell have a bronze finish and a vaguely art-deco look to them; and the bowl itself is'coppered' (copper-plated and polished). It also seems to have a its original mercerized cord.
