Here's a good Vintage General Electric Tungar 6V Battery Charger Model 6RB33B1. It power right up and has a normal hum.

I tested the leads and it is putting out current. Looks like it had the option to hang on the wall or stand on a bench. Light is not working, likely a bulb.
