Vintage GE General Electric One in a Thousand Club 999 Pure Silver Award Medal

RARE, VINTAGE CIRCA 1960s - 1970s ERA, GE - GENERAL ELECTRIC CORPORATION. "ONE IN A THOUSAND CLUB", 999 FINE PURE SILVER, EMPLOYEE SERVICE AWARD MEDAL / MEDALLION MADE BY THE FRANKLIN MINT, USA. MEASURES 2-1/4" IN DIAMETER, 5/32" THICK, TOTAL WEIGHT OF 91.3 GRAMS or 2.93 TROY OUNCES.

It is in circulated condition, showing typical light surface marks, scratches, and nicks in the rim. It is straight, not bent, has no personal engravings, with no major issues at all. Does not come with a box, paperwork, or other original accessories, you are purchasing the as-pictured medal only.

Obverse reads ONE IN A THOUSAND CLUB with 3 circles and the number 1, while the reverse reads information about the award with the GE logo at the bottom. It is hallmarked on the bottom reverse with the stylized F hallmark for The Franklin Mint, historic and listed USA collectibles and silver maker. It is also hallmarked on the rim. HISTORICAL FOOTNOTE: Not much information is available about this short lived "club", but I did find out that this award was given to various employees and departments for their service to the company, including scientists, chemists, engineers, and more. This is a great, more hard to find and rare medal!
