The radio has a fairly rugged build, and runs well on 4-C batteries. It has a fairly sensitive, and wonderful to use, clear plastic tuning dial, which makes it easy to find your intended station quickly. The unit also features a fine tuning knob that can be helpful when pulling in truly distant (dx) stations. This example is in lovely condition, with no physical damage apparent cracks, chips, breaks, repairs, etc. It powers up instantly with 4 C batteries, and has no trouble tuning in stations up and down the dial.
However, there's a bit of volume distortion, and some scratching noises are present, with adjustment. It's a fine radio to play with, it just isn't an everyday player. In other words, if you are looking for a radio that plays well consistently, this probably isn't it. If you are looking with a radio that is in amazing physical condition, that has historical value, powers on, and plays somewhat consistently uneven volume, occasional audio dropout, etc.
