The case is made of dark Bakelite-plastic material and has no cracks, chips, or paint splatters. It has been carefully cleaned and polished, restoring a deep, glossy finish. Light surface scratches are present but only noticeable upon close inspection.
The glass lens has a few small scratches that require close examination to see. The dial was gently cleaned after decades of use and shows age-appropriate blemishes and minor paint loss, with a faint scratch at the 11-12, but it displays beautifully from a normal viewing distance. The Telechron-branded face is original to the clock and reflects the General Electric/Telechron dual-branding used during this era. The original synchronous motor has been replaced with a modern, silent quartz movement for reliability and convenience. It has been tested for 96 hours and keeps accurate time. The original red-dot power indicator and time-set knob have been retained for historical authenticity. They are no longer functional with the quartz movement, but the red indicator has been positioned in the "red" setting to add a subtle touch of color to the dial. A beautifully refurbished 1950s GE/Telechron wall clock with a silent quartz movement, polished case, and excellent overall presentation.
